This seems to be a Mandella effect for many ppl who conflate Uncle Jesse with Uncle Joey. Joey was just Danny's friend, and while many ppl consider non blood relatives to be uncles, Joey was never actually referred to as or ever considered an uncle on the show.
I love JJ. But coming from a die hard steeler fan I have the most respect ever that he instantly recognized the bus and took the time to say hi.
